My sweet Harper Ann got her ears pierced a few weeks ago! Mama had been wanting to for a while, but Dada was a little unsure about it. He finally said she could do it, but he didn't want to be there when it happened. Mama ended up going all by herself because she knew if she didn't do it that day, it probably wouldn't have gotten done!!
Harper did great! She didn't cry after the first ear. Then after the second one, it hit her, and she cried a little. Mama held her and gave her love and she was fine in just a couple of minutes.
Shortly after it was done!
All smiles by the time we left the store!
My sweet little love later at home!
Love reading your blog and learning about your family. Loved hearing about "baby girl" getting their little ears pierced. She is totally adorable. Think you are a smart mommy getting her ears pierced now when mommy can care for them. Our ped also told me they don't have nerve ending in their ears till almost a year. Was reassured more when she said, if they cry is it because of being restrained or the noise of the piercing instrument near their ears, not any pain.
ReplyDeleteI always dreamed of having a little girl with cute little pierced earrings. I was unsure doing it early, but our pediatrician encouraged me to do it and gave me some tips for moms having their babies and little girls ears pierced.
There is nothing sweeter than an older little girl with little pierced earrings poking through their hair. It makes them look so feminine and ingénue. Our daughter is four now and is girlie-girl and loves changing her earrings to match her dresses.
Any moms looking for more research on "to pierce or not to pierce," drop me an e-mail for our ped's suggestions.
